The Andre Malraux Cultural Center organize his Fifth International lensless (pinhole, zone-plate, sieve…) photography exhibition on the theme of the Human Being

The exhibition will stand up first in France as usually in the CCAM from March 11th to April 23th 2011 and then in Spain, en el Centro Civic Can Basté de Barcelona (http://www.canbaste.com/) during 3 consecutives weeks between May and July (the exact dates will be announced later)

The previous exhibitions were attached to show the environment in which humans evolved. This time, human being becomes the subject of images!

Portrait or representations in feet, legs or eyes, back or hands ... nude or with clothes, what visions our dear tiny holes can show us about this so complex human being ? Every images with pornographic or degrading caracters will be systematically rejected !

You have to present a coherent serie of 5 to 10 photographs.

The size, the support and the arrangement of the images are free.

The images going to be exhibited in two distant locations must be prepared

to be « ready to hang ».

If you choose to show them framed, don’t use glasses !

To participate, send before December 31st, 2010, by Internet only at the electronic address frenchpinholecenter@orange.fr, a file including the following details:

1- Reproductions of the images such as they will appear to the exhibition. The reproductions will be numbered. Every reproduction will have 15 cms /1800 pixels in its largest dimension in 300 dpi, .jpeg format maximal quality. The digitized images must be dusted off, in RGB format for the color, in grey levels for the Black and White.

2- A sketch presenting the arrangement with the number of each picture. You aren’t obliged to use frames, your pictures can be simply pasted on a rigid support or presented in the form of a roller…

3-  a note (format RTF) presenting (in French, English or Spanish) :

- Your Name, First name, Address, Country

- e-mail address.

- The URL of your website, Blog or Flickr gallery, and so on

- A short biography (5 lines max.)

- Characteristics of the pinhole-camera(s) used to create these photography (focal length, diaphragm, …)

4- A short text (in French, English or Spanish) presenting your work on this subject (5 lines max.).

5- A photography of each pinhole-cameras used, numbered in correspondence with the reproductions. This (these) image(s) will measure 7 cm / 850 pixels in its greatest dimension in 300 dpi, in JPEG maximum quality. 

The files not corresponding to this request will be systematically rejected.

The selected authors will be informed by e-mail only during the last two weeks of January 2011. The selected authors will have to send in January (dead line for reception : February 15^th) by the post office their photographies ready to be hung on the walls.

Authors have to take all the customary precautions for a safe travel of their works so that they won’t be damaged.

The curator of the exhibition and the CCAM reserve the right to not hang on the prints which quality is not in compliance with selected files.

During the exhibition, the authors will follow on http://capsule93.blogspot.com/  the events of the exhibition.

At the end of the exhibition in the CCAM Le Bourget, the pictures will go to Barcelona (Spain) to be exhibited during 3 weeks. At the end of this second part of exibition they will be returned to their authors at the Can Basté of Barcelona expense.

Le Centre culturel André Malraux du Bourget organise sa cinquième exposition internationale de photographie sans objectif (sténopé, zone-plate, sieve…) autour du thème de l’humain. Son titre sera : Vivant !

Les précédentes expositions s’étaient attachées à montrer l’environnement dans lequel l’être humain évoluait. Cette fois-ci, Il devient le sujet même des images ! Portrait serrés ou représentations en pieds, œil ou jambes, dos ou mains… nu ou habillé, quelles visions nos chers petits trous peuvent-ils nous montrer de cet être si complexe qu’est l’humain ? Les visions pornographiques ou dégradantes seront systématiquement exclues !

Vous proposerez une série cohérente de 5 à 10 photographies.

L’exposition se tiendra successivement  en France puis en Espagne

L’exposition aura lieu du 11 mars au 23 avril 2011 au CCAM du Bourget

Le format, le support et la disposition des images sont libres !

Les images, devant être exposées dans deux lieux différents, doivent nous parvenir prêtes à être accrochées.

En raison du transport, si vous choisissez de les montrer encadrées,

ne mettez pas de verre !

Pour participer, envoyer avant le 31 décembre 2010, par Internet uniquement un dossier comprenant les pièces suivantes :

1- Reproductions des images telles qu’elles apparaîtront à l’exposition. Les reproductions seront numérotées. Chaque reproduction devra mesurer 15 cm / 1800 pixels dans sa plus grande dimension en 300 dpi, format .Jpeg qualité maximale. Les images numérisées doivent être dépoussiérées, en format RVB pour la couleur, en niveaux de gris pour le Noir et Blanc.

2- Un schéma présentant votre disposition avec le numéro des images en précisant leurs tailles. L’utilisation de cadre n’est pas obligatoire, vos images peuvent être simplement contrecollées sur un support rigide ou encore se présenter sous forme d’un rouleau ou être présentées dans une installation…

3- Une fiche (format .RTF ou .PDF) présentant (en français, anglais ou espagnol) :

- Vos Nom, Prénom, Adresse, Pays,

- votre adresse de courrier électronique,

- l’URL de votre site internet, Flickr, blog, etc.

- Une courte biographie (5 lignes maximum)

- Les caractéristiques de votre ou vos appareil(s) à sténopé utilisé(s) pour créer ces images (longueur focale, diaphragme…)

4- Un court texte (en français, anglais ou espagnol) présentant votre travail sur ce sujet (5 lignes maximum).

5- Une photo de chaque appareil utilisé, éventuellement numérotés, en correspondance avec les reproductions. Cette (ces) image(s) devra (devront) mesurer 7 cm/ 850 pixels dans la plus grande dimension en 300 dpi, en JPEG qualité maximale.

Attention ! Les images envoyées seront utilisées dans le catalogue, elles doivent donc être d’une qualité irréprochable !

Les dossiers ne correspondant pas à cette demande seront systématiquement rejetés.

Les auteurs retenus seront prévenus par courriel uniquement entre le 15 et le 20 janvier 2011.

Les auteurs retenus devront envoyer en janvier (date limite de réception : 15 février) par la poste leurs photographies prêtes à être accrochées, en prenant toutes les précautions d’usage pour qu’elles ne soient pas abîmées durant les transports.

La commissaire de l’exposition et le CCAM se  réservent le droit de ne pas accrocher les tirages dont la qualité n’est pas conforme aux fichiers sélectionnés.

Durant l’exposition, les auteurs pourront suivre sur le blog http://capsule93.blogspot.com/ les événements relatifs à l’exposition en France et en Espagne.

A la fin de l’exposition au Bourget, les photographies iront à Barcelone pour y être exposée une nouvelle fois, durant 3 semaines. A la fin de cette seconde exposition les œuvres seront retournées à leurs auteurs aux frais de Can Basté Barcelona.

Great news, this year !
The exhibition will stand up first in France as usually in the CCAM from March 11th to April 24 2010 and then in Spain en el Centro Civic Can Basté de Barcelona (http://www.canbaste.com/) during 3 consecutives weeks between May and July (the exact dates will be announced later)

Both real and symbolic, the four elements are part of both science and culture that we feed from the Greek philosophers. Necessary for Life, these four elements take sometimes a malicious aspect.
No water and the desert invades the planet, too much water and the floods destroy everything !
Mother Earth can have earthquakes which devaste cities and countryside ;
The fire heats up and allows food to cook, but burns millions of square kilometers of forests ;
The air is necessary to humans, animals and plants, but hurricanes, tornadoes and other storms make them fly off to distant parts.

Since the Renaissance in particular, whether in the etching, painting, or litterature, these four elements and their fragile balance have attracted many artist who have produced works both figurative or allegorical.

Now, YOU have to create a modern pinhole vision of these four elements !

You can propose :
- Four elements through four images (one element = one image)
- Two elements into four images (one element = two images)
- One element into four images

The André Malraux du Bourget cultural center organizes its third international exhibition of photography without lens (pinhole, zone-plate, sieve) around the subject of transport.

Since the dawn of time, the man looked for all the means to transport itself in a speed superior to the one than his legs allowed it. He so invented and finalized the mechanical systems, used the driving strength of elements, made machines always more successful with technological means.
So automobiles, motorcycles, buses, planes or boats transport human beings and goods worldwide with a lot of often polluting energy, while cycles, rollers, skateboards allow us to move in an often more restricted perimeter but by guaranteeing a certain purity of the air.

Choose your means of transportation and tell in a coherent sequence from five to ten images how you transport yourselves from a point to the other one.
The size, the support and the arrangement of the images is free.

The exhibition will take place from March 6th till April 25th, 2009 in the CCAM of Le Bourget.
